If you have yet to hear, on September 25 I moved to Tanzania long term. After serving in East Africa for three months in early 2012, I believe God has laid a call on my heart to go serve the least of these in Tanzania. I am living and volunteering at a baby home called Neema House. Neema is the Swahili word for Grace.
In Tanzania, 1 in 39 mothers die in child birth. This leaves many children orphaned or abandoned, as many fathers cannot provide for these infants. Neema House is currently caring for 28 babies under three. Of these children, three were found abandoned in pit toilets. Can you imagine having such little hope for your child you would leave them in a pit toilet?
I have always felt my calling was to care for young children. God has solidified that call in Tanzania. My heart is to declare the Father's love, life, destiny and identity into His beautiful little children. To set them on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ in the crucial beginning years of their lives, in hopes of them growing up to impact the world around them. Will you join with me in this calling?
